Future Global Sports client Priestley Farquharson has won his first major honours after Connah's Quay Nomads were officially declared JD Cymru Champions for the 2019/20 season.

On 21st May 2020 it was announced that The Nomads, who were four points clear at the top of the league having lost just two games in the league all season, would be crowned as Welsh league champions for the first time in the club's history.

The league title win completes a domestic double for Farquharson, 23, with The Nomads, who also won the Nathaniel MG Cup in February after a 3-0 victory STM Sports in the final.

Connah’s Quay Nomads’ final game of the season was away at Bala in a 2-2 draw which kept the club top of the league and helped secure the league title with a final total of 56 points after 26 games, with runners-up TNS on 52 points after the same amount of games after the season was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Nomads’ league title win brings a brand new name to the trophy, ending The New Saints’ eight consecutive seasons winning the title. Bangor City were the last team to stop TNS winning the league, back in 2010/11. With that, the club also qualifies for the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

Farquharson joined The Nomads from Bostik League South Central Division side, Hayes and Yeading United in January 2019 and has made 42 appearances for the club during that time. The centre-back has scored two goals and provided five assists.

At Future Global Sports we are delighted with this first ever league title win for Priestley and hope it is the first of many as he continues to develop and improve.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved at Connah’s Quay Nomads on becoming champions of Wales for the first time!
